Purposely accidental

Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, a group of people were moving into a new dwelling. During the move, a person accidentally dropped an item of decent value. Now, did the word "accidentally" mean anything? Why is it necessary to add "accidentally?" Is society at the point where if something happens, it is necessary to point out that it was not done intentionally? How many times have you heard people say "by accident" or something to that effect? Shouldn't it always be by default to assume it to be an accident?

In communicado

The number ways that people can spam me just increased. I signed up for the cheapest option for my phone and Google has released Google Talk. So far, I'm not impressed with Google Talk. So basic, and it thinks colouring emoticons is enough? Bah, I want animation! Heh, perhaps MSN will be around for a while...

And I'm supposed to be an engineer?

I recently got a cell phone and all I've got to say is that I'm very confused. Let alone the phone settings/features, I'm not even sure what plan to get or the process involved, or if I am on one already!!! What a n00b...

The Christian Paradox

I copied this straight from suberfantacularizzle...

The United States are the most Christian nation in the world, but they are also tremendously un-Christian-like in their actions. Their hypocracy when it comes to their Christian religion is infuriating much like their President.

Too bad I can't really confirm nor deny it, but it was interesting to read.

Jay Malone

I don't usually do such blatent advertising like this, but I've gotta say, if he's doing an appearance in the area, you should definitely go check it out. I just watched a full hour of him on comedy network and he was hilarious. His jokes are like Seinfeld's in that it's mainly his own twist on everyday things, but he's a bit more energetic than Seinfeld. Anyway, here's a small bit on Comedy Network with him.

A window to my past...

So at 7:09AM today, I could no longer fall asleep. What did I do? I started operation Room Cleaning. That's right - time to clean up my room. So I was clearing out my closet area (as of now, I haven't even gotten to my desk or bunk bed area yet) when I came across some of my old classics. They include my fictional works such as "The Return of Goldilocks" and "I went right through the living room's wall!" as well as non-fictional ones on the black hole, coral reefs and the skin. I wonder what the teachers thought when they read my stuff, especially the Goldilocks one as it's actually a bit disturbing... Later, after further cleaning/searching, I found a journal from my preschool in the states:

Dec. 5, 1988
I am afraid of girlfrind.
I am afraid of MiSTy.

So yeah, I blame MiSTy for making me who I am today!!! :D It's actually quite hilarious reading what I wrote back then. Almost half of the stuff I wrote made no sense as I would begin with an idea and just drift off...

[Update]
It's now 5:56PM and things aren't looking too good. Morale is low as the enemy is everywhere and seems to have no end. Everytime I clean out a bag or a box, I find another one hidden further in. In fact, they almost got me - a while ago I was so overwhelmed that I dozed off, but I couldn't sleep comfortably as my things were invading what little space I have left. Of all of my primary objectives, I've only cleaned 1/2 of my closet. That's it, it's time to wave the white flag. Better to live so that I can fight another day.

Feed delays...

One of the perks of having nothing to do is that one gets to watch TV. Lots of TV. So today I was watching TV when I happened across CNN talking about Pearson airport. My first reaction was "oh wow, what a coincidence, they've got one in the states too." Of course, after switching to newsworld and other local stations, I realized that it was indeed our airport. I must say, it's kind of weird watching CNN broadcasting a live feed from a local area, as I'm just so used to seeing them talking about states and whatnot. So anyway, while watching them, I noticed something - CNN would use feeds from CTV, Global and CBC, but mostly CTV or Global (although those said channels all showed the same camera view - ie all from one source). However, the "live" footage from CNN would be sooner/more recent than CTV or Global, yet CNN said it uses their feeds. So now, I'm wondering, how can this be? They all seem to be using the same highway camera (I'm assuming traffic camera), but CNN cites CTV or Global, depending on what they switched to, and for some reason, CNN's feed is faster. The delays in feed aren't too noticeable, probably a couple of seconds apart, so it's not an important matter or anything, but I just found this interesting. Actually, while I'm at it, how come they have to cite one of those two stations since it appears they're all from the same camera anyway? Who really has the right to the original camera feed? All I could think of is that the local stations have a longer delay for editing/censoring or whatnot than CNN does. Anyway, time for a snack...
